借酒未必能消愁,更無助減壓。美國一項研究發現喜歡飲酒的打工仔未必是藍領佔多,從事管理階層、金融及保險以至教育工作的上班族,一個月內有5天或以上,每次飲酒達5杯或以上,經常飲酒者工作態度會變消極,增加曠工或不斷轉工的機率。本港提供戒酒服務的團體指,近年酗酒求助者由勞動行業轉為專業人士為主,有法律界行政人員因工作壓力酗酒,反而影響工作表現,最終要停工治療。
